Keith S. Allison was born December 24, 1967 in what was then called the “Regis Park” section of Brentwood, New York.  He is a graduate of Brentwood Ross High School where he met his high school sweetheart, Brenda Allison, fell in love and married in June of 1991. They have two children together Alicea Allison and Darius Allison which he devoted his life to and was blessed to have his beautiful granddaughter Avaleigh Grace whom he adored and was the apple of his eye.

As a carpenter by trade from a young age he utilized those skills to support his family and soon worked his way and earned a superintendents position with Fairfield Properties being the first African American man to hold that position within that corporation. During his time at Fairfield Keith aspired to be a part of law enforcement in some manner and began taking every test available to him and was called by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department as a Corrections Officer in February of 1995. Keith diligently served on the Sheriff’s Department for just over 25 years of service where he reached the goal and title of Sergeant of Personnel Investigations, as well as, President of the Suffolk County Officer’s Association. His most recent role, Keith was appointed as an instructor to teach minority and sensitivity classes at Suffolk Community College to every Officer within the Sheriff’s Department which he took great pride in and enjoyed immensely.

Keith was a man devoted to his family, dedicated to his job, and equally dedicated to serving his community. He volunteered and was a member of the NAACP taking part and assisting in any events and functions he was called upon for. He volunteered and served the Brentwood Youth Activities for decades running the basketball program and going on to serve as President of the BYA for many years. Keith moved on from the BYA being elected to the Brentwood School Board where he served for several more years and held the seat of trustee and then later First Vice President on that School Board.

Keith made sure that all the while he continued to build his faith in God and pursued all that the Lord had for him serving at his church for the last 16 years and became a Deacon and served in several capacities at the church from cleaning to teaching to ministering the word Keith held many hats at his house of worship serving alongside his wife Brenda in any capacity that was needed.

Keith is a man of integrity, abounding faith and always had a heart for all people as he spent his life uplifting and encouraging anyone who came across his path. Unfortunately, Keith was called home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2020 after he succumbed to complications due to COVID-19. He leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control. His legacy now continues on in so many of the lives he has touched and imparted his wisdom, his steadfastness & heart to.
